0845 numbers have this status for a number of reasons, including
- Businesses do not pay to receive calls on 0845 numbers
- Public awareness in 0845 numbers is extremely high
- 0845 numbers are extremely cost effective
0800 and 0808 Free Phone telephone numbers
These are free for your customers to call. The customer does not pay for their call to you. Instead, you are billed monthly at about 5p +VAT per minute, for calls you receive during the month.
0330 Numbers
These are a new range of numbers recently issued by Ofcom and will become popular because they will cost the same to dial as 01 and 02 numbers and will be included in call bundle packages free for your customers to call.
Geographic Numbers
It is also possible to obtain Geographic Numbers which you may want for a number of reasons, maybe you advertise in a neighbouring town and want to appear to have a local presence in that town. But you are concerned that potential customers would only want to dial a Leeds 0113 number.
It is possible to have an 0113 number that 'points' to an existing number.
