How To Divert Calls

Business Call Diverting. BT, Telewest and NTL call diversion all work in the same way. All you have to do is call your supplier and order the facility if you don't already have this feature installed. BT charges £1.75 per month, NTL and Telewest about £1 per month. It takes about 24 hours to set up. For BT Business customers, call 152. For BT residential customers, call 150. You can also set up this service using the BT website.

Once you have contacted your supplier and they have enabled the Divert feature for you, there are three call diversion options for our live phone answering service and you simply choose the one that will suit you:

  • Divert when engaged or no reply ( *66* your technical divert number at Yours Virtually # ) This is our client?s most popular option and diverts calls when the line is engaged or if there is no reply after 15 seconds (about 6 rings).
  • Divert only when engaged ( *67* your technical divert number at Yours Virtually # ) Diverts calls to us when your own line is engaged
  • Divert all calls ( *21* your technical divert number at Yours Virtually # ) If your office is unmanned for any reason, you can programme your phone with a permanent divert. All of your calls are diverted to us immediately.
  • To remove diverts #66#, #67# or #21# as appropriate will remove the divert at any time.

BT Bypass for Residential Customers If you only have a single BT line but would still like your calls transferred to you, you can have a 'Bypass' number from BT. This is a different phone number that BT gives you which works on your existing single line but ignores any call divert settings. BT charge £3.50 per month for this service. Call BT Residential on 150 to activate it and please note that this particular service is known within BT as an 'offline' request and should be activated within 24 hours.

BT Divert with Bypass for Business Customers If you only have a single BT Business line but would still like us to transfer your calls to you, you can have a Bypass number from BT known as 'Divert with Bypass'. BT charge £6.33 per month for this service. Call BT Business on 152 to activate but please note that not everyone in BT is familiar with the Divert service so you may have to explain further, and is normally activated within 24 hours. The other landline operators use BT's infrastructure so the services are generally similar.

If you have any problems, our in-house technical team will liaise direct with your suppliers on your behalf and do what ever is required to take the hassle away from you and get the divert to us up and running as soon as possible.
